The shoe fits The Rossetti brothers celebrate 60 years of shoe-making in 2013 and the brand is stronger than ever, with two stores in Hong Kong and plans for more. Looking at its eye-catching classic green woven leather loafers (top; HK$7,180), it's not hard to see why the brand is doing so well. Fratelli Rossetti is also winning fans among more conservative men, with shoes such as the two-tone brown leather lace-ups (above; HK$4,380). Fratelli Rossetti is available at IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2722 9674.
Out of the blue With so many fashion brands trying their arms at denim these days, it's important to remember there's denim and then there's good denim. Los Angeles-based brand 7 For All Mankind falls into the latter category with a style and technique that's hard to match. We love the colourful offering of jeans in plum (above left; HK$2,380) and bright green (above right; HK$2,380), which are both well made and hard to miss. 7 For All Mankind is available at IFC Mall, tel: 2722 9666.
On the case When people think of Italian leather, they think about the traditional tanneries in the foothills of Tuscany staffed by veterans of the trade with cheery smiles on their faces. OK, maybe not everyone thinks that, but often we overlook the technological and innovative aspects of the Italian leather industry. Founded by an engineering student, Piquadro is a brand that puts tech firmly into its leather goods. For instance, take a look at these leather iPad briefcases (above; black HK$6,720, brown HK$5,200) that feature locks, key pockets, credit-card compartments, pen loops and a bottle holder; basically all the functionality you'll ever need. Piquadro is available at Elements, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon, tel: 2711 2551.
Easy does it The sun is officially back, so it's OK to wear pastel colours and chinos again and not elicit giggles from small children and disapproving looks from the elderly. Cerruti 1881's spring-summer palettes have us giddily looking forward to sunny days, particularly the look of casual aqua-coloured jacket (HK$5,390), knitted T-shirt (HK$3,590), trousers (HK$2,690) and leather bag (all above left; HK$5,290). We also love this preppy look of knitted tee (HK$6,590), casual trousers (HK$2,690), sunglasses (HK$2,690) and leather bag (all above right; HK$1,490). Cerruti 1881 is available at Elements, tel: 2317 7035.
