Buckle up Martin Margiela doesn't have much to do with Maison Martin Margiela these days but we certainly haven't noticed a drop in quality. We're big fans of this classic brown woven leather belt (above right; HK$2,899) but, for something with a bit more punch, we recommend the chunky black leather belt (above left; HK$4,299) with hidden keyholder. Maison Martin Margiela is at 10 Ice House Street, Central, tel: 2869 770.
Future perfect The year 2013 is going to be a big one for sci-fi in Hollywood and it seems Christopher Bailey over at Burberry got the memo. Bailey's spring-summer collection is all about space-age fabrics and futuristic designs. What caught our eye is the forward-thinking spin on the Burberry overcoat seen in this look of blue metallic silk twill caban (HK$24,500), cotton seersucker jacket (HK$14,500), metallic cotton classic fit shirt (HK$4,900), cotton seersucker trousers (HK$7,900), geometric woven skinny tie (HK$1,600), metallic blue sunglasses (HK$2,000) and leather shoes (all above left; HK$4,900). But the future doesn't always have to be shiny and metallic: we also love this extraterrestrial look of geometric-pattern oversized caban (HK$27,000), wool and silk cotton twill jacket (HK$14,500), geometric print shirt (HK$5,500), wool and silk cotton twill trousers (HK$7,900), abstract-pattern skinny tie (HK$1,600), leather shoes (HK$4,900) and sunglasses (all above right; HK$2,000). Burberry Prorsum is at 16 Chater Road, Central, tel: 2868 3511.
Style check It's all vivid patterns and colours this spring-summer and Tommy Hilfiger is no different, taking the workman-like check shirt and giving it a striking twist. We like the multi-coloured button-down collar shirt (above right; HK$990) as well as the loose-collared option (above left; also HK$990). Tommy Hilfiger is in Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2735 7622.
