Beauty buzz: blushers
When it comes to choosing a blusher, in addition to your colour preferences, you should also consider which hue will suit your skin tone. We've selected four options for spring and summer.
Benefit's Fine One One (HK$295) is a roll-on stick containing three colours: pink champagne; sheer watermelon; and soft coral. Make sure all three shades glide evenly on your cheek before blending them with your fingertips in an upward circular motion. The result is light and natural, with the pink champagne and soft coral shades providing a subtle illuminating effect. It can also be used to touch up your lips.
Diorblush's Glowing Colour powder blush (HK$395) comes in two colours: Pink Happiness and Tender Coral (left). Stamped with a houndstooth pattern, each palette has a duo of shades - one matt, the other infused with mother of pearl - that can be used on their own or mixed. The blush comes with a gentle flat brush.
Laura Mercier's Creme Cheek Colour (HK$200) is a velvety cream that blends into the skin beautifully. Just a tiny amount is enough to give a natural, healthy-looking glow. Apply it with a brush and blend in with your fingertips. The cream works particularly well on dry skin. New shades oleander and praline (right) have been added to the existing ones: rosebud, sunrise, blaze and canyon.
MAQuillAGE's True Cheek (HK$330) comes with a built-in, round-headed and easy-to-use brush. The twist mechanism on the tube can be a little unwieldy, however, and often disgorges too much powder. True Cheek is available in two shades - red coral and pink coral. Each canister is refillable.
