Feet in both camps Stuart Weitzman's shoe collections have always made an impression, his wide-ranging approach to materials and ultra-sexy designs eliciting both applause and disdain within the industry. His spring-summer collection addresses that by offering up a line that's both experimental and refined. The Gladiator boots (above left; HK$4,600) have been the critics' favourites so far, and we particularly like them in black. The Jazzy Girl (above right; HK$4,100), in blue, is a laced Oxford shoe that uses twine as its main material. Stuart Weitzman is available at On Pedder, 16 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2118 3489.
Different shades Summer's fast approaching and hitting the high street is the best way to pick up new looks on the cheap. H&M's collection, in particular, stands out for us: it has ditched the standard bright hues associated with the season for a darker, more earthy colour scheme. We're taken by a particular casual look (above right), comprising lightweight puffer jacket (HK$599), loose-fitted patterned top (HK$399) and short shorts (HK$349). For something a little more preppy and formal, there is the light green shirt (HK$399) under a pink top with flower detail (HK$399) matched with a patterned skirt (all above left; HK$399). H&M is at 68 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2110 9546.
Hats on The summer sun might have those of you predisposed to turning red reaching for head cover but there's no reason to be unstylish in doing so. Paul & Shark's yacht wear is versatile and chic, and this season's collection includes blends of modern and classic designs. We like the schoolboy hat (above right; HK$2,190), in off-white and dark blue with a beige brim, as well as the bucket hat (above left; HK$2,190), in white with a dark blue brim. Paul & Shark is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2522 3710.
Artful leather Henry Cuir's artisan leather handbags are a good fit for the hipster-friendly Star Street neighbourhood. From the impressive spring-summer collection, we like the Point bag in yellow leather with brown straps (above right; HK$6,995), which goes well with the brand's colourful selection of old-fashioned pouches (below; HK$2,995 each). For something more stylised, we'd recommend the 1950s-inspired brown-leather hemisphere bag (above left; HK$13,880). Henry Cuir is at 33 St Francis Street, Wan Chai, tel: 2528 1488.
