Bright direction Cole Haan broke free of parent company Nike late last year but clearly walked away with some of the latter's intellectual property and colour inspirations. The Lunargrand Saddle (above right; HK$2,600) - made with Nike Lunarlon technology in an eye-catching colour combination - marries Cole Haan's heritage styles with a distinctly sporty essence. The Great Jones Wingtip (above left; HK$1,980) takes a similar cue, but in earthier hues. Cole Haan is in Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, tel: 2265 8386.

Waist land Roberto Cavalli is the man responsible for the sand-blasted jeans look, which might make us wince today, but let's not forget how trend-setting and "cool" it was in the 1990s. Cavalli's still innovating and through his Just Cavalli diffusion line he's put out some interesting accessories. We like this distressed leather belt (above right; HK$1,095) as well as the rather florid and baroque number (above left; HK$1,695). Just Cavalli is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 9882.

Waiting for Goyard French bag and luggage maker Goyard is one of the few luxury brands that has not gone fully mainstream - but that's probably only a matter of time, so we recommend you grab a piece of it while it's still sort of rare. We particularly like the Sac de Voyage Croisiere weekend bag (above; HK$21,300) but if you really want to wow your friends make the Malle Trois Magnums champagne case (left; HK$98,000) your next purchase. Goyard is in The Peninsula, Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2722 0398.

Shave our souls The beardy, hobo, hipster look is everywhere these days - in fact, no catwalk or red carpet is complete without some manly face fuzz. Change is in the air, though, and we have a sneaky feeling we've reached Peak Beard. A clean shaven, neat and tidy reckoning is coming and we think the folks at Club Monaco have seen the future. We love this clean-cut look of Owen button-down slim-fit shirt (HK$1,350), Maddox shorts (HK$790) and Aiden nylon backpack (HK$1,890; all above right). We also like the slightly nerdy look of Grant linen suit jacket (HK$3,990), BD slim-fit linen shirt (HK$1,050) and Grant suit trousers (HK$1,690; all above left). Club Monaco is at 16 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2118 2987.
