Shape of things to come Sometimes less is more. Danish luxury brand Georg Jensen demonstrates this perfectly in its autumn-winter collection. The Nocturne range focuses on design and simple but solid lines, harnessing the power of geometry. The bracelet (far right; HK$2,950) featuring a metallic diamond design is a lesson in sophistication while the triangular drop earrings (right; HK$1,980) offer a punkier edge. Georg Jensen is in Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2506 3118.

Modern twist Every woman needs a little black cocktail dress - and we love the charm of a good cheongsam. Shanghai Tang offers a bit of both this season. The black wool crepe and leather dress (above left; HK$6,900) evokes 1960s elegance with a distinctively modern silhouette. For something a little brighter, there's the wool blend embroidered watercolour coat (HK$6,800) worn over a silk blend tunic (HK$3,300) and cigarette trousers (HK$3,280), with the red hip belt (HK$1,680; all above right) injecting a little attitude. Shanghai Tang is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 1505.
