Behind the label: Kosoyoung
Sarah Cottee
Who started it? Since bursting on to the scene in the early 1990s, Ko So-young has become a celebrity trendsetter in South Korea, starring in numerous films and television dramas. She recently made the leap into fashion, creating Kosoyoung with chief designer Kim Byung-don, who has worked under Alexander McQueen.
Why we love it: the latest autumn-winter collection presents power and flexibility as its main themes. Each piece is cut to emphasise curves, and represents classic, simple beauty. The clothes have a timeless air about them and could be easily dressed up or down.
What we'd buy: we'd definitely go for the smart, sexy blazer (right; HK$6,900), with its flattering cut and length. The chic black lace top (HK$5,900) could anchor an elegant or a casual outfit but goes especially well with the slick green skirt (HK$7,900; both far right).
Where can I get it? Kosoyoung is available at Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3388.
