Kanye West used to be the man about town at Paris Fashion Week, popping up at every major show, but since his own clothing line launched to a lukewarm reception and he has become a father, his enthusiasm for the French capital's elitist fashion industry seems to have cooled. This year he and partner Kim Kardashian make very few appearances, the main one being for their friend Riccardo Tisci's Givenchy show, where singer Ciara is also spotted. Instead, it is singer Lenny Kravitz who gets press and audiences most excited this season, especially when he joins Salma Hayek at Saint Laurent.

Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand is a regular at shows this season. She is joined at Valentino's event, held at the Espace Ephemere in Paris' Tuileries Garden, by Elettra Wiedemann (daughter of Italian actress Isabella Rossellini), in stunning crimson, Ciara, in a black and white dress, and Carina Lau Ka-ling (snapping away on her iPhone), in a nude couture outfit. Other prominent Chinese celebrities making appearances at fashion weeks in Paris and Milan include Hong Kong's Angelababy Yeung Wing and mainland actress Ni Ni, at Christian Dior.

As ever, the stars come out in full force for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel's Palais-Royal show - Vanessa Paradis, Clemence Poesy, Leigh Lezark, ballet star Roberto Bolle and Hong Kong style maven Hilary Tsui Ho-ying, to name but a few. Singer Katy Perry headlines the star-studded front row, wearing chic black and white, while fellow songstress Rita Ora is clad in navy blue and silver tweed.

Gossip Girl Blake Lively is the face of Gucci's Premiere fragrance and is front row for the brand's show in Milan in a tan leather dress so tight it's likely she will have to change before putting away any pasta or gelato afterwards. Given flame-haired songstress Paloma Faith's quirky, retro-centric taste in fashion, it is odd to see her front row at classic coat brand MaxMara, but a little bird tells us she is heading to Japan with the brand to perform at its show there. Justin Bieber's on-off girlfriend, ex-Disney star Selena Gomez, is seen in vampy black at Versace.
