1. Heart beats Just because Valentine's Day has passed doesn't mean the romance has to fade. Vivienne Westwood's heart-motif jewellery collection is quirky and cool, and features vintage rose-coloured Swarovski crystals. Tickle his fancy with the chain bracelet (left; HK$990), earrings (bottom; HK$890) and the necklace (right; HK$1,090) - just don't wear them all at once. Vivienne Westwood is at 27 Wellington Street, Central, tel: 2833 5550.
2. Bags of fun Bright colours and hues are back and Italian brand Sportmax is at the front of the crowd. The boxy purple two segment bag (right; HK$8,380) is an easy option for an everyday, tomboy look, while the quilted red bag (left; HK$9,380) is a more feminine option. Sportmax is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 4228.
3. Chain reaction We just can't get enough of Hermès: the ready-to-wear, the swimwear, the scarves and the jewellery - all that subtle, cool French style at its best. The imagery and advertising are also super-sophisticated, forgoing the usual Lolita-like models the rest of the industry seem to be infatuated with. A case in point is the lovely presentation of its Chaine d'Ancre silver jewellery collection, whose anchor chain motif was first launched in 1938. We like the look of the stacked bracelets (centre; HK$10,400 for short, HK$12,600 for medium and HK$13,300 for long). Also catching the eye are the large cuff (HK$24,800) and chunky chain bracelet (HK$15,600; both right - the middle bangle is not available in Hong Kong). Our favourite, however, has to be the Chaine d'Ancre necklace (left; HK$42,400). Hermès is in Lee Gardens One, Causeway Bay, tel: 2907 2974.
