Beauty buzz

With the spring humidity about to settle its soggy hands on everything again, now is the time to consider a regime change. Oil-controlling compact foundations are designed to take the shine off our complexions - in a good way.

Formulated in Japan, claims to deliver a healthy, shine-free look even in hot and humid weather. It features a blend of light-reflecting optics, sheer titanium and the vitamin-rich SuperCitrus Complex, which is said to brighten and tone skin. Cucumber extract, plant-derived Pentavitin as well as amino- and fatty acid-coated powder is moisturising without being cakey. It's available in nine shades.

the Canadian brand recently launched at Joyce Beauty, found fame after actress Angelina Jolie used its products to cover her tattoos for a movie role. Just like its other products, such as the primer and cream concealer, its contains antioxidant vitamins and green-tea extract to combat ageing. The skin stays matt, thanks to its oil-absorbing microspheres, and hydrated with vitamin F esters and amino acids. The foundation is available in eight shades.

is formulated with the brand's exclusive Floral Transparency Complex, said to control pigment-forming melanin, and whitening Baryte-infused Lively White pigments, to lift the complexion. Silicon beads ensure easy blending during application for a natural, lightweight veil. The powder is available in six shades.

is a blend of two textured powders: an amino-coated one, for easier blending, and AD Powder, which shields skin against ultraviolet rays. For best results, follow with the contouring Glow Stick from the same "Don the Light" collection. The foundation is available in nine shades.
