1. Nuggets of wisdom Damn, those black and white David Yurman campaigns look good! The American jeweller likes to enlist the industry's hottest models (think Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen) to bring gravitas to his brand - and the technique works. While his twisting rope design might be his most recognisable, this season we are loving the more feminine leanings of his Starburst collection. Get girly with the Starburst pearl drop earrings (right; HK$8,200) featuring cultured white freshwater pearls and diamonds set in sterling silver. And bring on the bling with the chunky chain bracelet (left; HK$23,800) featuring small cultured freshwater pearls. David Yurman is in IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2295 0005.

2. How loafer can you go? The last time the chief executive of Tod’s, Diego Della Valle, was in town, his team, some VIP guests and members of the media all ended up putting on football shirts in the middle of Central restaurant Mott 32, and a raucous night ensued (there’s plenty of evidence on Instagram). So it’s no secret that the label is all about relaxed luxury. And this summer it has added to its famous rainbow spectrum of Gommino flats fun yet sleek, two-tone tasselled loafers (HK$3,500 a pair). The shoes are available in various combinations including black and white matt (top) and metallic silver paired with white, black or nude (bottom). Tod’s is in The Landmark, tel: 2810 8692.

3. Long story As the pre-autumn collections begin to trickle in, we get the chance to refresh our summer wardrobes. And Diane von Furstenberg has the ideal outfits for evenings on the beach, such as her multicoloured halter maxi dress (right; HK$7,500), with its cool, colourful graphics and long, lean silhouette. For something a little less busy, there’s the colour-block version in mint and navy with a flash of violet and rust (left; HK$9,200). Diane von Furstenberg is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2522 8782.
