Out shopping

Jing Zhang and Marisa Pinto

Scents of a woman I remember the day I discovered Hermès perfumes. And without exaggeration, they rocked my world. My world, albeit at that point, was not the greatest, but more on that another time. The Hermès perfumes are super-sophisticated, beautifully bottled and packaged and stay on the skin much longer than your regular luxury stuff. The scents are complex and often draw compliments. So, we are quite excited by the launch of Hermès Le Bain, DFS in Hong Kong. Le Bain is a bath and body collection based on Hermès’ novella perfumes that will include shampoos, body balms, soaps, the works. To celebrate, DFS is releasing two exclusive perfume sets during a limited period. The Garden Perfume Collection set (above left, HK$840; previously available inflight only) has two 15ml bottles of Un Jardin sur le Nil and Un Jardin sur le Toit. Then there is the Hermès Miniature set (above right; HK$535), exclusively available at DFS in Hong Kong and featuring Jour d’Hermès, Eau des Merveilles, Un Jardin sur le Nil and Voyage d’Hermès. The collection is available until September 4 at T Galleria by DFS, 28 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2302 6888.

Love handles Hongkonger Vivienne Tam has made a global name for herself from her adopted home of New York. As she celebrates the 20th anniversary of her brand this year, Tam has released her first full range of handbags. Surprised it's taken this long? So are we, but the results have been worth waiting for. We're loving the look of the leather satchel with gold metallic hardware (above left; HK$4,350) and the natural toned kashgar leather Pagoda shopping bag (above right; HK$4,950), for the perfect day-to-day compliment to your outfit. Vivienne Tam is in PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street, Sheung Wan, tel: 2721 1818.

Meow meow Miu Miu knows how to keep things sweet with its signature pastel hues, but this season's eyewear collection breaks the mould with kaleidoscopic patterns and lively colours. Combinations of aquamarine, wisteria and purple work well against transparent nylon frames but those who hanker for a more classic look will love the sophisticated tortoiseshell glasses (top; HK$1,860). Our favourite, however, are the cat-eye frames (above; HK$2,410). Miu Miu is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 4616.

Highs and lows Edgardo Osorio, the designer and founder of Aquazzura shoes, charmed the pants off editors and fans alike on his visit to Hong Kong two months ago. His brand of comfortable, elegant, Italian-made shoes that fit like a glove made him an industry favourite before the public starting catching on. His success has been speedy, and earned him comparisons with a young Christian Louboutin. Since flats are all the rage this season, we love these strappy, pointy-toed blue versions with a cute gold heel (above right; HK$5,000). For girls who like a bit of lift, there is the cutout black leather and mesh high heel with a tie strap at the ankle for support (HK$7,600). Aquazzura is available from On Pedder, Gateway Arcade Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2118 3470.
