Who founded it? The Hong Kong-based label was established by jewellery designer Carina Wong He-ting, who also dabbles in calligraphy, embroidery and metalsmithing. Wong is also a professional gemologist, with a deep understanding of gemstone faceting and jewellery construction.

Why we love it: if elves and nymphs were ever to pop into existence (and loved shopping), we imagine these would be the kind of accessories they’d wear. The pieces have a mythical and folkloric charm that would appeal to fans of fantasy stories such as The Chronicles of Narnia. Every piece is made-to-order by hand.

What we’d pick: the Tree of Life 18-carat white-gold earrings (above centre) are wonderful, as is the bangle with gold sheen sapphires, garnets and a handcrafted Tahitian black pearl (above right). Aspiring Narnia ice queens will find an affinity for the Dewdrop 18-carat white-gold necklace (above left). As each piece is one of a kind, prices vary but generally range from HK$15,000 to HK$220,000.
