Is it just me, or are shoes with fringes and tassels in right now? I've been looking online for some cute sandals for my holiday, but they all look a bit samey. I'd love something a bit different.
On the Fringe, Mid-Levels

The Dictator rules: Yes, they are really in. As in, in stores. Get off whatever device it is that you've been searching on, and get out into the real world. But, before you log off, you might want to look up the difference between a fringe and a tassel. I'm always worried that a fringe, especially on a brown or black sandal, will look like errant body hair. I shudder every time I think about it. Tassels, however, don't have that problem. At Christian Louboutin you can still find fringed fantasies from the spring-summer 2015 collection, such as the multicoloured Otrot suede sandal (HK$9,800) with hot pink fringe trailing down the back of its 4.7-inch heel. Or fall for the autumn-winter 2015 collection with the black Casanovella sandal (HK$8,700) with a leather fringe draping down the T-strap. We're also salivating over Aquazzura's Wild Thing sandals and their shorter-length spray of red suede fringe on flat or heeled designs (HK$4,900 to HK$6,500; Lane Crawford). For the flat variety, there are also Stuart Weitzman's Gelati sandals (HK$2,700) with a cute tassel on top. Vickie's is the place to go for affordable, pretty suede ones (HK$459; 3 Queen Victoria Street, Central, tel: 2525 6402). And you can talk to them about a custom order, which usually takes two weeks.

Eek! I've been so stressed out by wedmin (wedding admin), exercising and finalising my dress that my skin's showing the strain. One month to go! Can you name a good spa where I can get rejuvenated?
Bedraggled Bride, Mount Davis

The Dictator: OK, I'm going be nice here. I really don't want to wake the Bridezilla that lurks in all of us. The question is not which spas offer bridal treatments, it's which you should entrust your skin to just four weeks before some extreme close-ups. The Peninsula Spa has a variety of one-month or three-month bridal spa programmes, each a holistic combination of treatments for the face, body, nails, hair and more (HK$5,000 to HK$8,600; The Peninsula, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2696 6682). Or invite 10 to 15 friends and have a bridal "Spa-ty" (HK$30,000 and up). At Sense of Touch, the Sparkling and Ultimate Bride packages (HK$4,580 to HK$7,980; www.senseoftouch.com.hk) offer a long list of pampering treatments, from facials to eye treatments, body exfoliation, mani/pedi, waxing and massage. The Ritz-Carlton Spa by Espa recommends a TriSerum Radiant Boost treatment for the bride (HK$2,400; International Commerce Centre, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon, tel: 2263 2040). Flawless takes it a step further, providing private consultations on ideal beauty treatments, bridal hair and make-up ( 4/F, Sea Bird House, 22 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2869 5868). Do what you can now, but on the day, remember to let go and enjoy it.
