Balenciaga's new designer, Demna Gvasalia, a co-founder of the Vetements label, debuted his vision for the brand to critical praise. Since Alber Elbaz was pushed out last season after 14 years, there has been much speculation about who would take over. The spawn of Will and Jada Smith have officially become high-fashion hits. Hot on the heels of her brother, Jaden, modelling for Louis Vuitton, 15-year-old Willow sat front row at Chanel, as she was announced as the face of the brand's latest campaign.

A woman who changed the industry from her living room received a major honour in London. Wearing a red custom-made suit from British couture house Ralph & Russo, fashion entrepreneur, founder of Net-a-Porter and chairwoman of the British Fashion Council, Natalie Massenet, made a trip to Buckingham Palace to collect her damehood.

Vivienne Westwood's husband and co-designer, Andreas Kronthaler, is formally (and finally) taking over the principal design of the brand. Invites to the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label show in Paris debuted the renamed line as Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. His collection, which was, of course, eccentric, was titled Sexercise.
