What’s the story? Portuguese fashion designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida met when they were studying at London’s Central Saint Martins in 2009, prior to which they worked at Vivienne Westwood and Preen, respectively. In 2011, they launched their eponymous label Marques’Almeida, showing first under Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East programme before being awarded the Newgen sponsorship by the British Fashion Council. Last year, the brand won the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.

Why we love it: the brand has a casual vibe that will appeal to the young, as well as the young at heart. A go-to label for effortless, everyday style, its pieces are accessible and authentic.

What we’d pick: our top picks include the asymmetric-ruffled tulle top (top left; HK$5,765) and the sequin embellished dress with side slit (above right; HK$5,268). For a casual vibe, there’s the lace-up brocade flat sandals (above left; HK$3,628).
