Four glitter cosmetic powders for the Hong Kong party girl
Bone up on the art of making a bright and shiny entrance

For those who love Make Up For Ever’s Star Lit Powders (HK$180) – and let’s face it, who doesn’t? – the brand has just launched 20 more shades, from the brightest yellow to the fiercest red. The colours are so intense that the powder can be worn alone instead of as a shimmery top coat, to highlight eyes, lips or cheeks. You do, however, have to use a cream-based primer or a cosmetic adhesive to make the loose powder stick.
The design of Urban Decay’s Limited Edition Heavy Metal Palette (HK$500) is a bit chunky and heavy, but we absolutely love the pigmented, metallic eyeshadows. There are 10 warm, earthy shades on one side and, on the other, 10 more in cooler hues.
Those who like to hop on the glitter trend without going overboard should try out Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Edit (HK$990). The limited-edition palette contains six shades, including two exclusive ones, for highlighting, contouring and use as a blusher, and each results in various degrees of sheen.
Instead of shimmery eyes, change things up by rocking glittery lips. To create a show-stopping look, check out Pat McGrath Labs’ Lust Lip Kit (HK$1,190), available on Net-a-Porter. The collection has it all – six matt lipsticks, four glitter pots and a vinyl gloss that acts as an adhesive.
