Subtle is not a word typically associated with Anna Sui. Like most of her designs, Sui's 2016 tropical summer beach make-up collection is bold and bright. We love the nail polishes (HK$135 each) in cool retro colours such as aqua blue and sun orange, made with natural ingredients including raspberry extract, grape-seed oil and olive oil. Roll on summer!

There's a reason Chantecaille is a hit with Hollywood A-listers. Its skincare products are insanely good and its make-up is right up there as well. Its new summer collection is inspired by the ocean. We love the ultra-creamy crease-proof and water-resistant eye shadows (HK$320 each), which can also be worn as eyeliners, in shades such as starfish mauve, seashell gold and lagoon teal.

Japan’s tropical islands of Okinawa might be best known for their white sandy beaches, but it’s the local mineral-rich red algae that has the beauty world buzzing. Some people claim it has similar hydrating properties to collagen, which is why Japanese brand Tatcha has tapped the algae as an ingredient in its new Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum (HK$820/15ml) and Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate (HK$950/50ml).

Fans of Hungarian brand Omorovicza can now get their hands – and faces – on its new detoxifying mask, released just in time for summer. Enriched with marine properties, the Ultramoor Mud Mask (HK$990/50ml) is all about deep cleansing and purifying.
