EVENT Tiffany & Co Blue Book Ball
WHERE Rockefeller Centre, New York City

Happenings: The roaring '20s made a major comeback when famous jeweller Tiffany hosted a lavish soiree to celebrate its Blue Book Collection inspired by the Jazz Age. An impressive 9.5-metre Tiffany Blue Box was created to cover the Rockefeller Centre's signature ice rink, while the building's Greek titan Prometheus bronze statue served as a backdrop.

About 400 guests, including A-listers Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Jessica Biel, Sarah Jessica Parker and Carina Lau from Hong Kong, attended the ball. Stars of the upcoming film The Great Gatsby, including actress Carey Mulligan and director Baz Luhrmann, also turned up. Dancers and Broadway songstress Megan Hilty provided entertainment for the night. Aerialists donning feathered headdresses descended in the midst of silvery confetti at the dreamy end.

CHIC CHAT with Carina Lau

I like a Tiffany necklace which I bought a long time ago. It's classic and easy to wear. I can wear it during the day or at night.

Tiffany means love, romance and promise to me. The most memorable part of this trip is definitely the Blue Book Ball.

Eleven Madison Park, the three-Michelin star restaurant in Manhattan. I had the 15-course menu. It's a true fine-dining experience.

I will be going to Cannes this month to promote my latest movie, titled Bends, with famous Chinese actor Chen Kun.
