EVENT Lanvin Flagship Store Grand Opening Cocktail Party
WHERE New Henry House, Central

Happenings: Guests braved the rain to check out Lanvin unveiling its 5,380 sq ft flagship store. The high-fashion brand's uber-friendly creative director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver were flown into town especially for the party. Socialite and celebrity fans, including Niki Chow, Simon Yam and wife Qiqi, Wyman Wong, Mira Yeh and Amber Xu, turned out in their fabulous Lanvin outfits to impress.

Despite the usual party-hopping crop, we spotted I.T fashion empire boss Sham Kar-wai rubbing shoulders with the designers. We also saw a few adorable tots tagging along with their hot mums. One even went up to Elbaz for an autograph. Colourful cupcakes, orange foie gras treats and pink cake pops were served along with free-flowing Champagne. 

Who says I'm not properly dressed for the party? I'm wearing ruffles, not too far off mode Lanvin, no?

What is it like working with Elbaz?
It's a very nice experience. There's a constant exchange of ideas - a conversation that brings us both further. It helps to have someone intellectual you can talk to and give a second opinion.

Do you have any styling tips for Hong Kong fans?
I'm really surprised when I see people walking down the streets. They are actually much more fashion forward than [people in] Paris. Guys today are less afraid to admit that they enjoy fashion.

You are always travelling, how do you cope with your globetrotting lifestyle?
I travel light, as light as possible. I only carry one hand luggage.

Do you enjoy partying in Hong Kong?
Next week, we will be back working in the studio. It's exciting for me to see people buying our clothes.
