Resorting to leisure
If it's a sun-and-sand vacation you're looking for, Fiji's the place to be this summer. In particular, we're lusting after Laucala Island.
The 12-square-kilometre private island in the Fiji archipelago claims to have the highest staff-to-guest ratio in the world, with more than 350 staff taking care of the 25 villas, including a stunning hilltop villa priced at US$40,000 a night.
Exclusivity and privacy are of utmost importance, and the west coast of the beach is affectionately known as Dream Beach - a stretch of white sand accessible only by sea and open to only one couple at a time. The resort also offers an 18-hole golf course, diving, fishing and other water activities, not to mention beachside horseback riding, complete with a horse whisperer from New Zealand. No wonder Oprah Winfrey is a fan.
