EVENT BALL for BMW New Watch Collection Launch Party
WHERE Hong Kong Maritime Museum

HAPPENINGS: Chief operating officer of BALL Watch Daniel Alioth flew into town from Switzerland for the unveiling of the BALL for BMW Chronograph DLC watch.

The newly renovated Maritime Museum provided the venue for a star-studded guest list, which included marketing manager of BALL Watch Sean Eav, her partner Gigi Chao, actor Joe Ma, and top models Balia Chan, Rosemary Vandenbroucke, Jocelyn Luko and Anthony Sandstrom. A spectacular drum show kicked off the party, and guests were treated to a singing performance by Linda Wong.

So if I wear a BALL watch, does that make me a baller?

CHIC CHAT with Sean Eav

What’s the most important element of a watch?
Readability – simple, easy to read, especially when I’m driving at night, at a movie or when I’m clubbing.

What does “time” mean to you?
It’s important to be on time. I usually arrive early for my appointments. As watchmakers, time is a very important concept – we can’t be late.

How are things going between you and Gigi (Chao)? Still facing a lot of pressure?
We’re good! In the beginning when the news (of our marriage) broke out, we did face a lot of pressure. We are grateful for the support of family and friends.

What do you think of the LGBT community of Hong Kong?
I think the most important thing is support from parents and family. You don’t have to feel ashamed. Just stay happy and be loyal to your true self.
