Happenings: Guests who braved the amber rainstorm warning to check out French luxury beauty brand La Prairie's latest offerings were not disappointed. Instead of a regular product presentation, a bevy of models were hired to present the eye cream and lip balm as they walked down a proper runway, with not one but three closet changes.

Although there wasn't a designated dress code, ladies who turned out in all-white ensembles included socialites Helen Rong, Qinnie Chan and model Mikki Yao. Guests sipped fruity drinks while therapists massaged the precious cream on to their hands. The touch of French romance was complete as model-turned-bakery-owner Amanda Strang took centre stage. Parisian-inspired outfit. She talked enthusiastically about the new products and the special macaroon tower she created for the occasion.  

I gotta say ... this runway products presentation is more professional than most fashion shows.

What's your beauty secret?

Although I rarely get facials, I take my cleansing routine seriously. I wash my face at least five times a day using make-up remover and cleanser.

Do you have any summer getaway plans? 

I want to go to the Maldives, because swimming and diving are my favourite summer sports.

How is your Zeuz.com e-commerce venture going?

It's hard work, but I'm really happy with what we have achieved. We'll soon be expanding to the mainland. We now have an office in Chengdu.

Why Chengdu?

Because Chengdu has a burgeoning market [for e-commerce] compared to major hubs such as Beijing or Shanghai.
