Breguet restores two galleries at the Louvre
An estimated 2,500-square-metre area at the Louvre has been restored to its past splendour, sponsored by Breguet, one of the pioneers in the luxury watch industry.
To celebrate the refurbished Louis XIV to Louis XVI galleries of the museum, a star-studded event with 300 VIPs from around the world was held. Guests admired the objects - mainly 18th-century decorative arts - housed within the restored areas. A gala dinner beneath the splendid glass pyramid was held, accompanied by recitals of the young award-winning soprano Polina Pasztircsák. A collection of timepieces created by founder Abraham-Louis Breguet was on display.
