Italian fashion brand Gucci takes a step further to shoulder social responsibility by teaming up with community group Global Citizen to advocate women's equality around the world.

Sharing similar visions of raising funds and promoting women's empowerment through education, the two partners aim for more substantial achievements in tackling gender inequality issues.

Gucci's campaign Chime For Change and Global Citizen will also focus on grassroots activism and individual enhancement.

In September, the two groups will be co-presenting the 2015 Global Citizen Festival in New York City with performances by Beyoncé, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Pearl Jam.

Chime For Change was launched by Gucci in 2013 and led by A-list celebrity co-founders Beyoncé and Salma Hayek Pinault. The campaign raises funds to help girls and women around the world. It has raised more than US$7.3 million with 144 non-profit partners for 409 projects in 86 countries.
