Wellendorff exhibits iconic Rings of the Year

Hong Kong was treated to a showcase of all 19 editions of the Wellendorff Ring of the Year for the first time at a private exhibition.

2015 marks a very special year for Wellendorff, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its iconic Ring of the Year. Since 1997, Wellendorff has presented a limited edition of these rings, engraved with the year, each one with a select motif such as angels, fireworks and butterflies.

To celebrate the anniversary, Wellendorff held a private Ring of the Year Exhibition at Gallery by the Harbour on December 8 for select media and guests. For the first time, Wellendorff displayed all 19 editions of the Rings of the Year, dating back to 1997. From the Hong Kong flag-inspired ring of the year in 1997, in just a limited and numbered edition of 97 to commemorate Hong Kong’s handover to China, to the Love for Life ring this year, the display was a fine showcase of the German brand’s timeless dedication to fine jewellery-making.

The brand also used the occasion to introduce its 2016 Ring of the Year, Danke, in a limited and numbered edition for just 216 women throughout the world. Keeping with the brand’s signature, the enamel ring, expertly engraved and adorned with a floral motif inspired by the beautiful clematis, a symbol of gratitude, features an inner spinning ring that can be playfully twisted and turned around the finger.
