EVENT ACADEMY BALL FUNDRAISING BALL
WHERE LYRIC THEATRE, THE HONG KONG ACADEMY FOR PERFORMING ARTS

HAPPENINGS: This year's Academy Ball, with the theme of "Astral", transformed the Lyric Theatre into an enchanted star-gazing observatory. Over 400 guests raised more than HK$7 million to set up scholarships, including the Jaeger-LeCoultre Performing Arts Scholarship. This year also marked the launch of a three-year sponsorship funded by the Swiss luxury watchmaker.

The ball, co-chaired by Winnie Chiu and Jennifer Liu, saw a constellation of stellar patrons, including Regina Leung, Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung and Betty Fung. Academy students provided entertainment and guests, such as Daniel Chan, Brandon and Jenny Chau, Peter Cheung, Sabrina Ho and Jamie Louey, performed a singing skit that featured Jaeger-LeCoultre watches.

OVERHEARD The ‘Astral’ theme is so appropriate for a fundraiser to support the stars of tomorrow.
