Move over platinum and rose gold, yellow gold seems to be making a major comeback. Audemars Piguet unveiled a series of its iconic Royal Oak novelties rendered in yellow gold at this year's Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. First launched in 1972, Royal Oak was the first luxury watch crafted in stainless steel. The avant-garde design was paired with unconventional materials such as carbon, rubber, titanium and tantalum. This year, iconic pieces such as the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar bring back the yellow gold buzz.
