EVENT JIMMY CHOO 20TH ANNIVERSARY COCKTAIL PARTY
WHERE LANDMARK, CENTRAL
HAPPENINGS: Marilyn Monroe once said, "Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world". The well-heeled guests at Jimmy Choo's 20th anniversary cocktail event surely demonstrated their amazing girl power. Guest of honour actress Shu Qi of The Assasin fame donned killer heels hand-embellished with almost 400 crystals called the Storm priced at HK$30,000. Jimmy Choo also debuted its HK$800,000 shoe trunk filled with objet d'art shoes from its Memento collection.
The city's shoe lovers turned out en masse for the celebration. We spotted models Qiqi Yam, Amanda Strang and Cara Grogan, designer Johanna Ho and others. The party pack later joined the brand's CEO Pierre Denis and president Elaine Yin for a private dinner at China Tang restaurant.

My oldest pair of Jimmy Choos, which are over 20 years old and I'm still wearing them.

Jimmy Choo designed shoes for my graduation collection at Central St Martins. 
Is it easier today for Asian designers to launch their own business?
I think the competition is more heated.
