IWC shows Pilot watches in Hong Kong

IWC Schaffhausen is running an exhibition at Central’s IFC Mall to showcase both vintage timepieces and 2016 new novelties from its iconic Pilot collection.

A total of 94 timepieces are on display. The vintage exhibits include a rare selection of 24 Big Pilot’s watches on loan from private collectors. Some of the highlights include the first Big Pilot’s Watch of 1940, the Pilot’s Watch Mark 11 and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XII.

First launched in 1936, the “special watch for pilots” were designed especially for aviators. Its anti-magnetic escapement and rotating bezel with an arrowhead index to register take-off times are signature features of the series.

IWC also previews the much anticipated Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch 48 at its store in IFC Mall. The piece will only be available in Hong Kong in October.

The exhibition runs until June 5 at the Oval Atrium of IFC Mall.
