Angelina Jolie is known not just for her Oscar-winning acting skills and action stunts, but also for her classy and elegant taste in all things fashion.

From repeatedly wowing at red carpet events with her graceful outfits to strolling the streets in just the right level of casual, she has taken over the fashion scene for decades with her style statements … particularly her expensive, designer handbags.

Jolie previously told Vogue that she likes to “invest in quality pieces” and use them until they’ve worn out.

Here are seven of the most iconic pieces of arm candy she’s worn to date, including her latest Princess Diana-inspired purchase.

1. Lady Dior 95.22 handbag

With her penchant for luxury, Jolie’s latest purchase is the classic Lady Dior 95.22. This accessory has a history too, as the other famous person who was known to wear it was none other than Princess Diana.

Lady Dior was first (unofficially) named the Chouchou bag in 1995. It was gifted to Princess Diana by the first lady of France that same year before it became available to the public, per Hola! The late Princess of Wales took such a liking to it that it became part of her signature look and, a year later, Dior renamed Chouchou to Lady Dior in honour of their royal fan.

Dior released a newer version of this bag named Lady Dior 95.22 during the brand’s autumn/winter 2022 ready-to-wear show, per Vogue. Jolie, being the Hollywood queen that she is, took no time to follow in Princess Diana’s footsteps and added the similarly designed handbag to her wardrobe.

2. Saint Laurent’s Icare Maxi Bag

An “It” bag that Jolie often wears is Saint Laurent’s popular Icare Maxi bag in black, the renowned actress’ apparent go-to colour when it comes to bags. The 47-year-old made headlines with YSL’s Icare Maxi when she was spotted wearing it while strolling through the streets of Rome with her daughter Zahara, per L’Officiel.

This YSL bag was one of the most coveted releases in 2022 and became the talk of the season after it was seen on the arms of A-list celebs from Zoë Kravitz to Hailey Bieber, per the article. Jolie is often seen wearing it during her casual outings.

3. Louis Vuitton City Steamer

Louis Vuitton is one of those brands that was meant to be for Jolie. The Maleficent actress has appeared in various photoshoots wearing the label and has also donned its gorgeous dresses for multiple red-carpet events. So it’s no surprise that one of her most iconic bags is the Louis Vuitton City Steamer.

This bag is said to take design inspiration from old-world travel bags and is the go-to luxury carrier for flight needs. The LV bag is also shown to be a part of Jolie’s airport fashion and she was also found wearing it in Paris, where she met with France’s first lady Brigitte Macron, per Vogue. Jolie is said to be such a huge fan of the bag that she has it in multiple colours, states W Magazine.

4. Valentino Histoire

A doting mum who loves to treat her kids, Jolie decided to share her love of bags with her oldest daughter.

While Jolie already owned a Valentino Histoire bag, she decided to buy an adorable mini version of the same bag for Zahara, who was a toddler at the time, per W Magazine. The mother-daughter pair was seen sporting the matching look while they were out and about in New York City.

5. Valentino Garavani Vring

Another Valentino in her priceless collection is the Valentino Garavani. Jolie has different versions of the Valentino Garavani in her wardrobe, from the Vsling to the Black Roman Stud Nappa Chain “It” bag. But her Garavani that stands out the most, in our opinion, is her Vring bag. This piece made its debut in the brand’s spring/summer 2019 collection.

The Valentino Garavani Vring was on Jolie’s shoulder when she attended a United Nations meeting in 2019. Jolie chose to wear neutral tones to the event, but spiced the look up with her iconic red-and-black bag.

6. Dior St Honoré Tote

Part of Dior’s Cruise 2021 collection, the Dior St Honoré Tote bag accompanies Jolie on both casual outings as well as more serious occasions.

Most notably, she wore it during her visit to the White House where she met with officials to discuss reauthorising the Violence Against Women Act, per CNN. On a lighter occasion, she was also seen wearing it during one of her shopping trips with her son, Pax, in West Hollywood in 2021, per The Zoe Report.

7. Celine 16

Jolie and Lady Gaga already had a Celine 16 handbag each months before the luxury brand dropped the unique, vintage-style bags in November 2018, per WhoWhatWear. The Celine 16 was named after the brand’s Paris atelier on 16 Rue Vivienne.
