Online speculation continues to grow over the whereabouts of Kate Middleton. Ever since royal watchers noticed her mysterious lack of public appearances starting in early December, internet conspiracy theories have run wild.

The princess had not been formally photographed since she was hospitalised for abdominal surgery on January 16.

However in early March, Kate was snapped in a car beside her mother Carole Middleton near Windsor Castle, marking the first time she’s been seen at all since the Christmas period – albeit in a blurry paparazzi photo.

But not all is as it seems. Time reports that no major UK news outlet shared the photo, and some netizens pointed out that it seemed to be a Kate-lookalike, rather than being Kate herself.

And then came the infamous Mother’s Day photo.

Middleton took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with her three children, but AP quickly pulled the shot from circulation due to concerns it didn’t meet its photo standards – sending the rumour mill into overdrive.

In a statement through Kensington Palace, Middleton wrote: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

William and Kate welcomed their first child, Prince George, on July 22, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. He’s currently the second in line to the British throne after his dad.

As previously reported, Prince George is likely to follow his dad, uncle Prince Harry and grand-uncle Prince Edward to attend the prestigious Eton College in 2026 once he turns 13. Described by The Times and other British media as an introvert, he is nevertheless still seen enjoying himself in public from time to time – like when he watched the 2023 Wimbledon men’s final, cheering on Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz against Novak Djokovic.

2. Princess Charlotte, eight

The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed their second child, daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, on May 2, 2015, at the same hospital as their firstborn, according to People.

According to the magazine, her name holds significance as the feminine version of her grandfather King Charles’ name. Third in line to the throne, Charlotte, or “Lottie” as her family reportedly calls her, has been embarking on more royal engagements and is also known for twinning fashion looks with her mother.
