This past Friday, William “Billy” Baldwin and his wife Chynna Phillips made headlines after being caught having a tense conversation at Jayde’s Market in Bel-Air, just days after Baldwin’s public spat with Sliver co-star Sharon Stone came to light.
In the past few weeks, Stone has stirred the pot by revealing on Louis Theroux’s podcast that producer Robert Evans, who passed in 2019, pressured her into considering an intimate relationship with co-star Baldwin to boost his performance and their sexual chemistry in their 1993 film, Sliver.
The revelation didn’t sit well with Baldwin, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to air his side of the story, questioning Stone’s apparent continued interest in him and hinting at more behind-the-scenes secrets.
Amid this tangle of accusations, Phillips took to Instagram with a cryptic message, sharing a quote by the late pastor Tim Keller that read: “If you were a hundred times worse than you are, your sins would be no match for his mercy.”

Chynna Phillips is from a musical family
Music has been a significant part of Chynna’s, 56, life. Her parents are John and Michelle Phillips of the legendary band The Mamas & the Papas, making Chynna part of musical royalty.
But her true rise to fame came when she joined Wilson Phillips, a pop music trio formed with Carnie and Wendy Wilson, daughters of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.
The group’s self-titled debut album, released in 1990, was a commercial success, selling millions of copies worldwide. However, they went their separate ways in 1993, though sometimes reuniting over the years. Afterwards, Phillips pursued a solo career, releasing the album Naked and Sacred in 1995. She later collaborated with singer-songwriter Vaughan Penn in the duo Chynna & Vaughan.
She has also appeared in films
Phillips later dabbled in film, appearing in Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) and Say Anything … (1989). Her credits also include appearances in Caddyshack II (1988) and the hit comedy Bridesmaids (2011), where she played herself. Additionally, she voiced the character Kitty in the animated series Danny Phantom.

Years later, the couple reportedly confronted and openly discussed a significant six-month separation, alongside issues such as Phillips’ growing faith. They have managed these difficulties through therapy and open communication, reaffirming their commitment to each other.

After converting to Christianity in 2022, Phillips has candidly discussed the impact of her faith on her personal life, particularly how it has affected her marriage and friendships. On her YouTube channel, California Preachin’ – after the famous Mamas & the Papas song “California Dreamin’” – she shared the deep pain she’s felt over friends, family members and colleagues who don’t share her religious beliefs and are “not saved”.
Despite her attempts to share her faith and even baptise a few friends, many have not been receptive, leaving her feeling “gutted” over their reactions.
