5 things you should know about Hong Kong-bound singer Dua Lipa

Sultry English performer, who won two Brit awards on February 21 including best British breakthrough act, will sing live in concert in the city this May
One of the rising stars in the world of music – 22-year-old English singer Dua Lipa – has announced she will be performing in Hong Kong in May.
Known for her husky, smoky voice, Lipa, who was born in London in 1995 to Albanian parents from Kosovo – an autonomous state in southeastern Europe – plans to perform at the MacPherson Stadium, in Mong Kok on May 1.
Here we take a look at five things you may not know about this singer-songwriter.
1. Big winner at 2018 Brit Awards
The singer-songwriter claimed two prizes – best British female solo artist and breakthrough act – at the prestigious Brit Awards on February 21, while earning the most nominations out of all the artists – five.
She was also nominated for album of the year, for her eponymous release, Dua Lipa, and single and video of the year for N ew Rules .
2. Avid YouTube user
At the age of 14, Lipa began her musical career by using YouTube as a platform to share her cover versions of her favourite songs by artists including Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado.
