Hong Kong-born beauty content creator Sarah Cheung has carved out a unique niche as she transitioned from tutorials and commentary on make-up and skincare products to creating her cosmetics brand.

Between her YouTube channel and her social media accounts, Cheung has candidly shared her beauty and health journey in addition to her personal trials and tribulations. She has 843,000 subscribers at the time of writing on her her YouTube channel, Sacheu.

Cheung began her content creator journey with beauty tutorials and product reviews, amassing a dedicated following that allowed her to host brand-sponsored fan meet-ups in Hong Kong.

She posted one of her most personal YouTube videos three years ago, when she shared her healing journey after years of emotional and sexual abuse as a child. She revealed how she struggled to maintain emotional clarity when she was forced to move back into her childhood home due to a lack of financial stability from her career as a content creator.

A year later, she shared that she’s since moved again, this time to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she shares a home with five roommates. In that video, Cheung divulged more details about her healing journey, offering viewers insight into how living solo has taken a toll on her, and how living with a group of supportive friends has helped bring routine and order back into her life.

Along the way, Cheung founded her beauty brand Sacheu, where she promotes, among other things, the ancient Chinese holistic technique of gua sha. Cheung created videos detailing how she uses a smooth-edge beauty tool to glide against the skin to stimulate muscles, meridian points and blood flow.
The technique has become a viral beauty ritual many rely on for a glowing, flawless complexion. She also advocates using stainless steel facial rollers to help deliver nutrients and increase blood flow to the skin.

Besides her beauty tools, Cheung has also formulated a range of skincare products to enrich sensitive skin and improve overall skin health. Judging by her complexion, it’s no surprise that the influencer has cultivated a following for her signature products like the water-free Slick Skin serum formulated with lipids, ceramides and squalene.

The influencer also pioneered a new technique to line lips for a bolder, pouty effect. Her Lip Liner Stay-In has gone viral on platforms such as TikTok, where audiences are mesmerised by the seemingly magical way the gel-like liner dries, peels off and leaves behind a semi-permanent outline that lasts an entire day.
