From food glorious food to Funky Heroes – five things to check out at the Hong Kong E-Prix

You can try your hand on the E-Race simulator or take in some tunes at the Allianz E-Village in between the track action this weekend

You might think all the action will be on the track when the HKT Hong Kong E-Prix takes to the streets of Central Harbourfront this weekend for a season-opening double header.

But there will be plenty going on off it, too – here are five things you should be sure to check out on race weekend:

Butchers Club Burger will be one of the participating eateries at the Hong Kong E-Prix.

1. Food glorious food

The Allianz E-Village will be home to eight food trucks serving up a range of treats, including a special dish conjured up especially for the Formula E. Participating eateries include Ma Ma’s Dumplings, Patchun, ThaiMui, Butchers Club, Table Seven x W. Burger, Princes Kitchen, Hung Fook Tong, and XXL.

NickChoiMusic will be performing in the E-Village.

2. Everybody dance

Various music and dance groups will ensure the atmosphere off the track will be just as electrifying as it is on it with live performances taking place at the E-Village across the race weekend. Popular buskers Popguys, Weekend, NickChoiMusic and Lose Wing will delight fans with their musical talents, while Funky Heroes, Monster B-Boys and Skateboarders will strut their stuff.

Supporters can help out their favourite drivers through FanBoost.

3. Get your votes in

Don’t forget to engage yourself through FanBoost. Unique to Formula E, fans will have direct impact on the outcome of the race through FanBoost, by voting for your favourite drivers on the FIA Formula E website. The top three will get additional power in their second car during the race.

Drivers and fans alike will get involved on the E-Race simulator.

4. Game on

Gaming enthusiasts can speed their way around the virtual Central Harbourfront circuit on the simulators inside the E-Village’s Gaming Arena. Two fans with the fastest lap times of the day will be rewarded with a showdown against four of the professional Formula E drivers competing in the Hong Kong E-Prix. Compete between 8am and 12:30pm, and the E-Race tournament will take place on both Saturday and Sunday.

Fans will be able to meet the Formula E drivers at autograph sessions in the E-Village.

5. Sign of the times

Fans can meet their Formula E heroes at the Allianz E-Village as autograph sessions will take place there throughout the race weekend. What’s more, you can celebrate with the race winners as the podium presentations and champagne celebrations take place in the heart of the E-Village.
