Laid-off workers riot at sportswear factory

Manila nod for export of dolphins to casino

MANILA - The Philippine government approved the export of 25 show dolphins to Singaporean casino Resorts World Sentosa after a ban on their transport was lifted. Theresa Concepcion, Asia head of animal rights group Earth Island Institute, said it planned to appeal against the ruling. AFP


Japanese teen jailed over marijuana on Bali

DENPASAR, Indonesia - An Indonesian court sentenced a Japanese teenager to six months in jail after he was caught with a small amount of marijuana on Bali. The 17-year-old student at an international high school on the island was arrested in August after police found 2.61 grams of the drug in his pocket. AFP
