Sichuan cancer patient prepares video wedding blessing for children

Thousands of people have shed tears over a video recorded by woman suffering from cancer and fearing imminent death, in which she prepares a message of blessing for the future weddings of her three children.

With the help of a friend, Li Shu, a mother from Langzhong city in Sichuan province, recorded the video from her hospital bed, according to , a local newspaper.

“At that time, I felt very bad. I didn’t expect too much from life. I was afraid I couldn’t attend their [my children’s] weddings,” Li told the newspaper.

Li had her womb removed after giving birth to triplets. When her daughters were three years old, she got stomach cancer, the newspaper reported.

The video of Li’s wedding blessing for her children was posted online on Thursday, under the account name of a hospital, generating more than 30,000 views.

“Baby, do you still remember how I look? Today is your wedding day. I prepared this video for you around 20 years ago. I hope you will always be happy,” Li said in the video, “If it’s possible, I hope I can attend your wedding and bless you in person.”

Tens of thousands of Chinese viewers were moved by the video.

“When I watched this video, I cried. It’s full of love and warmth,” said one netizen.

“For your three lovely children, for us, please hold on, Li Shu! Your daughters will remember your appearance in 20 years,” commented another.

Li Shu thanked people for their support on her Weibo page. “I am just an ordinary person and have three children who look the same. I am so lucky to get so many blessings and so much encouragement,” she wrote.
