Four hurt in gas blast
A gas cylinder exploded at a food stall in the township of Houchi, injuring two men and two women, Guangzhou Daily reports. The blast broke one man’s hand and left a 4cm cut on his head. The blast may have been caused by a pipe linking a stove to the gas tank melting. The owners of the stall have been held by the police while the investigation continues, according to the report.
Dad admits beating son
A man from Shantou admitted online that he beat and abused his son in revenge for his wife leaving him, the New Express reports. He also posted pictures of his scarred son on the internet. Members of the public alerted the authorities. The man had been posting photographs of his wounded son since February. He has since fled and the boy is in the care of his grandfather. The man’s wife left him after she, too, had been beaten.
