The woman was bitten multiple times by a Tibetan mastiff and had a brain haemorrhage. She had gone to her neighbour to ask for help turning off the supply to a leaking water pipe. Her neighbour's dog was untied and it attacked her. She spent a total of 26 days in hospital and had asked for 46,000 yuan in damages to cover her medical expenses.
A 48-year-old cleaning woman from the Xicheng district of the capital has helped take care of her former colleague for more than seven years after she became virtually paralysed, The Beijing News reports. The pair started working together in 1990 and became good friends. Her colleague was later diagnosed with severe rheumatism. The woman visits her regularly, helps financially and gives her massages to ease her condition. She said that after she retires in the near future she will spend more time caring for her friend.
