A man who was bitten and injured by a Tibetan mastiff while he was having his car repaired has been found partly responsible for the attack, the Beijing Times reports. The man went to relieve himself in the corner of a car repair shop in June, when the animal dashed out of the grass and bit him. He sued the dog owner for 70,000 yuan (HK$88,400) in hospital bills. But the court in Yanqing county said he should have used the repair shop's toilet and was therefore partly responsible for the accident. The court awarded him 20,000 yuan.

The woman, who had several chronic illnesses, fell over and lost consciousness after the argument, which included physical contact with one of the neighbours. The court ordered the neighbours to pay 30,000 yuan to her family.
