Chinese strawberries 'didn't infect Germans'

No disease-causing viruses were found on exported frozen strawberries allegedly behind a food poisoning outbreak in Germany, China's quality watchdog said yesterday. The norovirus, suspected of infecting more than 11,000 students, was not found on a sample of fruit exported by the Chinese firm in question, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine confirmed. Henan factory workers strike for more pay

More than 1,500 workers at an electrical appliance company have gone on strike over pay in Xinxiang city, Henan province. Protests started on Tuesday but have escalated at the headquarters of Henan Xinfei Electric, a Sino-Singapore joint venture, according to the Xinxiang city government. The company said 1,500 protested, but an anonymous protester put the figure at between 5,000 and 6,000. Xinhua
