Tibetan man dies after setting himself on fire

A young Tibetan set himself on fire in the country's northwest yesterday, two overseas rights groups said, continuing a series of self-immolations by Tibetans apparently protesting Chinese rule. Dorjee Lhundrup, in his 20s, died soon after setting himself ablaze in Qinghai province, said the US-based International Campaign for Tibet, citing photos of the body and Tibetans outside. AFP

Carrier Liaoning in first touch-and-go exercise

The military recently conducted its first touch-and-go exercise involving an aircraft and China's only aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, the PLA Daily reports. Aquino to bring up South China Sea claims

Philippine President Benigno Aquino said yesterday he would raise overlapping claims to the South China Sea during a summit of Asian and European leaders in Laos this week.
