As the Chinese parliament and its political advisory body hold their annual gatherings this month, “lianghui” (or “two sessions” a collective name for both National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference session) is probably the most popular topic of conversation.

But how much do foreigners in China know about the events? Reporters of huanqiu.com, a website affiliated to newspaper  decided to take to the streets and find out. The reporters asked: who is the president of China, who is the premier of China, and what is lianghui? While these are questions seem pretty basic, don’t worry if you don’t know the answers as you are not alone.

If you are wondering how the man at the end of the video knows so much, it was revealed after the video went viral on Chinese social media that he is Mark Dreyer, a Beijing-based journalist who has worked for media outlets including Caixin Media.
