The vice president of an academic institute in Yunnan Province has been suspended after screenshots of video footage showing him having sex with his young colleague went viral online.
The sex scandal erupted last Tuesday when an anonymous blogger posted nude pictures of Wang Wen, vice president of Kunming Institute of Zoology, on an online forum, describing Wang as “the Lei Zhengfu of Kunming”, referring to a Chongqing party official embroiled in a sex tape scandal last year.
“The institute received petition letters regarding the incident on December 27, last year… Wang was removed from all his posts in the institute last Thursday and is now under investigation,” said an announcement posted on the institute’s official website on Wednesday. The institute is under administration of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The blogger named “wwkmdws” claimed the female employee had been forced into a sexual relationship with Wang in exchange for a post at the institute.

The scandal surfaced as a microblogger named “Xiakedahu” posted steamy screenshots from a video appearing to show Qin Jianguo, vice president of the Party school, having sex with a 34-year-old female postgraduate.
Qin, after lying to the student about his marriage status, then beat her in the school office with his wife present, the blogger pod.
The student’s lawyer Qu Jianguo from Shaanxi announced on his microblog on Wednesday morning that he had sent the sex tape to the party’s anti-graft agency.
Qin is now under investigation, another vice president of the Party school told last night.
Last year, more than 20 government officials and executives from state-owned companies in Chongqing, including Lei Zhengfu, were dismissed for appearing in secretly filmed sex videos.
