China’s state broadcaster on Monday appeared to have confused United States National Security Advisor Susan Rice with the nation’s former secretary of state who carries the same surname.

A video uploaded to the YouTube account of China Central Television English News channel on Sunday showed that the broadcaster used the pictures of former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice that says the security advisor had arrived in Beijing.

All three still pictures used in the 50-second news item were of Condoleezza Rice.

Two internet users pointed out the pictures used are incorrect, and that Condoleezza Rice was not from the administration of US President Barack Obama.

The state broadcaster appeared to have corrected the mistake. In a video posted to its official website on Monday morning covering the same news content, it used pictures of Susan Rice instead.
