Shanghai revellers sink their teeth into a good time
Survey finds more mainland holidaymakers heading offshore than travelling at home

The results came as a government tourism think tank and an online travel firm found that more mainland holidaymakers headed overseas than travelled domestically over the break, thanks to a stronger yuan and relaxed visa requirements.
Dianping said that since February 16, Shanghai users had spent an average of 107 yuan (HK$135) on dining out, compared with the national average of 72 yuan. They also outlaid 708 yuan per person on entertainment, more than double the 304 yuan national average.
The most popular dish across the country was sanbeiji, or stewed chicken with rice wine, sesame oil and soy sauce.
Dianping said the data also reflected various regional food trends. In Tianjin, for example, the biggest appetite was for a casserole of roast duck and tofu, while in Fujian, satay noodles and chilli frog topped dining wishlists.
