China has showcased its new stealth fighter at an international air show for the first time, according to a US-based defence website.
The FC-31 was featured on the opening day of the Dubai Air Show, Defensenews.com reported.
The PLA is in negotiations to buy the aircraft, Aviation Industry Corporation of China project manager Lin Peng was quoted as saying.
Lin did not say when a deal was likely to be finalised.
The aircraft has yet to find any buyers, according to the report.
A prototype of the aircraft, also known as the J-31 for use in China, flew during the Zhuhai Air Show in China last year.

The FC-31 was designed for the demands of future battlefield environments,” Lin was quoted as saying.

The test aircraft had been flying for more than two years, he said. 
The corporation hopes the plane will be have initial operational capability by 2022. 
The company gave details of the specification for the J-31 aircraft at an aviation show last month, even though the jet is still being tested.

The company’s president said last year the FC-31 could certainly “take down” its main combat opponent, referring to the US-made Lockheed Martin F-35. “It’s a certainty,” Lin Zuoming said.”
Lin also emphasised the company’s desire to compete with the US in new markets, particular nations the US will not sell military equipment to or those which cannot afford the pricier F-35.
