US to continue with probes into stainless steel flanges from China, India
Trade commission votes to extend preliminary anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations into imported goods
The US International Trade Commission said on Friday it voted to continue investigations into possible dumping and subsidisation of stainless steel flanges from China and India.
The Department of Commerce on September 6 announced preliminary anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations into the products.
The value of imports of stainless steel flanges from China and India in 2016 were valued at an estimated US$16.3 million and US$32.1 million, respectively, the department said.
The probe followed petitions by two privately held companies, Core Pipe Products of Illinois and Maass Flange Corp of Texas.
They alleged dumping margins, or the discount to fair value, on products from China of 99.23 per cent to 257.11 per cent, and from India of 78.49 per cent to 145.25 per cent. They also estimated that products from both countries were subsidised at undetermined rates, the commerce department said.
