China’s officials have been told by the Communist Party to draw lessons from the ignominy of senior officials indicted for corruption, including ex-security tsar Zhou Yongkang, as a warning against misdeeds. Among those deemed by the party as “typical negative examples” were former Politburo member Bo Xilai and former presidential aide Ling Jihua. (Xinhua)
 

Social security authorities urged China’s companies to further implement paid leave for employees after a state-backed study found that only half of the firms provide that benefit. In light of the biggest on-day stock market plunge in eight years on Monday, the CSRC reassured the public that it would continue to stabilise the market and that the Securities Finance Corporation, which serves as a conduit for the central bank to inject funding into the market, has not scaled back its support measures.
